Coffee with the coast in it.
Family-owned, certified-organic coffee — thoughtfully sourced, carefully roasted in small batches on the Northern California coast for thirty-five years.
Our mission, unchanged since '91
Organically grown, thoughtfully sourced, carefully roasted.
Coast Roast began at a kitchen table in Tomales and grew into a roaster the Bay Area trusts — one small batch at a time. We have only ever roasted certified-organic, 100% Arabica coffee, because we believe great coffee should be good to the people and the places that grow it.
- Single-origin beans from Peru, Guatemala, Sumatra & Ethiopia
- USDA Organic & fair trade — certified, not just claimed
- Roasted in small batches and shipped fresh

What three decades on the coast taught us
Certified organic
USDA Organic, fair trade, 100% Arabica — certified by the OCIA since 1991, never a marketing afterthought.
35 years certifiedA coastal family roaster
Born in a Tomales home, still small-batch — roughly 21 tons a year, roasted with care, not on an industrial line.
Family-owned since '91Farm-to-cup origins
Single-origin beans from Peru, Guatemala, Sumatra, Ethiopia & Indonesia — named on every blend.
Transparent sourcingEthics with teeth
We reinvest in the growers who raise our coffee and the town that raised us — equipment for farms, scholarships at home.
Good in the cup & outRoasted with a conscience
Coffee that gives back to where it grows
A share of what Coast Roast earns has always gone back to the people and places behind the cup — funding processing equipment for coffee-growing communities and art scholarships for students in Tomales.
Our coffees carry USDA Organic certification and are certified by the Organic Crop Improvement Association — an independent, internationally recognized organic certifier.
“You can't chase every dollar and every good idea… we're pretty confident in our little coffee company.”— Coast Roast, featured in the Point Reyes Light
